Refund Policy
Every LayerLink part is made to order, so this policy explains exactly when we refund, reprint, or decline.
Last updated 3 August 2026
Cancellations
You can cancel for a full refund any time before a maker starts printing. Once the status moves to Printing the material and machine time are committed, so cancellation is at the maker's discretion.
Because parts are custom-manufactured to your specification, statutory cooling-off rights for distance selling generally do not apply once production has started.
When you get a refund or reprint
- The part arrives damaged, warped, or with failed layers.
- The wrong material, colour or quantity was printed.
- The part does not match the uploaded model's dimensions.
- The order never arrives, or tracking shows it lost in transit.
- The maker misses the agreed completion date by more than 7 days without contact.
When we can't refund
- The uploaded model itself is flawed (non-manifold walls, too-thin features).
- The part is correct but you changed your mind about the design.
- Normal characteristics of the process — visible layer lines, support marks, minor colour variation between batches.
- Damage caused after delivery by modification, sanding or misuse.
How to claim
Open the order and use "Report an issue" within 14 days of delivery. Include photos of the part. We review with the maker and respond within 3 business days, then either refund to your original payment method or arrange a free reprint.
Timing
Approved refunds are issued through Stripe immediately and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
Maker payouts on refunded orders
If an order is refunded before payout, the maker's payout is cancelled. If it has already been transferred, it is recovered from the maker's next payouts. Repeated quality failures can lead to removal from the marketplace.
